marigold plants do not require much water

One of the greatest disadvantage of having a garden is that the plants may dry up when the garden owner is travelling and has no one to water the plants daily, especially after the monsoon season is over. For example the website owner was travelling for 5 days and could not water the plants which were kept in the open in panaji, goa .
However the marigold plants managed to survive without water for 5 days, and after being watered daily, they are almost like normal . Some of the other plants like cucumber require daily watering or the plant will dry up very quickly if they are not watered daily.
Some special pots were used for the plants so that the water was retained for a long period of time.
So those looking for plants with low water requirement should consider growing marigold plants
